Spate of attacks has hit Eastern football clubs in the Northern part of Nigeria. Trending on the social media are pictures showing the brutal attacks sustained by two different Eastern clubs in two Northern states.
To the left is Akwa United Defender that was attacked and to the right is their coach who is nursing the injury sustained from attacks they received from infuriated Kano Pillars fans that attacked them after they won by a lone goal. This is according to a report made available by Sitipe Ke AkwaIbom Reporters.
Also in a separate report made available by Scan news Nigeria, Enyimba of Aba has been reportedly attacked after their match in Katsina state. The photos showed their shattered bus and the injuries they sustained during their match visit.
According to a facebook user Lawal Ibrahim Bakuru that claimed to have been there when the event took place, he claimed that the attack was prompted when contact between Enyimba keeper and a player from the Katsina United side lead to the Katsina boy being hospitalized.
The incident which has been condemned by many is attracting rhetoric for reprisal if the said clubs attends to the Eastern side. There has also been cautions against such as it is will escalate this dangerous acts in the country.
