Happening live as Nigerian army, again, invades the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, with armoured tanker. Members of IPOB are seen in the video blocking the street leading to Kanu’s house while soldiers are seen parading the area.
A battalion of soldiers is seen in the area while an armoured tank is stationed in front of Kanu’s home.
The Cable have reported that Some of the soldiers also stormed the state’s chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), also in Umuahia.
Items worth thousands of naira, including laptops, were said to have been destroyed at the secretariat.
On friday, September 8, The Nigerian Army had announced Its Plan to launch “Operation Ogbu Eke II” – “Python Dance II”, in the South East between September 15 and October 14, to check violent criminals, agitators and other forms of criminality.
But in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 12, in Abuja and signed by its President General, Chief John Nwodo, the group described the operation as an invasion of the region aimed at intimidating the people.
