Buhari Should Withdraw The Statement On The Youths And Apologize – Shehu Sani, Timi Frank
In the light of criticisms trolling a statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari that “Nigerian youths are lazy”, Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central has called on the president to withdraw the statement and apologize.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Senator Sani advised President Buhari to withdraw the statement and apologize. He urged the president to tell the youths what he had done for them and what he would do for them in future.
Read Senator Sani’s post: “The President should simply withdraw the statement on the youths and apologize; and tell them what he will do for them in addition to what he had done for them. The President spin doctors are trying to spray fragrances on the feces and lace the dung with olive oil,it’s absurd. The President is a human being, he can gaffe and should be forgiven and should not be sent to the political guillotine.
As for the Youths, the challenge is to pick the baton and lead and stop holding the Alsatian Dogs of the political elite. The President echos the perception of the bourgeoisie power elites, the youths must rise against it.”
Also, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, reacting, said the president should apologize for the comments he made. He reminded the president that more than 20 young Nigerians lost their lives in 2014 in search of employment in the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The APC chieftain, who said the country had the best brains in the world, added that Nigerian leaders had refused to create the enabling environment for the young population to excel.
“If Nigerian youths are lazy, you won’t find them all over the world seeking greener pastures. Again, we have so many Nigerian young entrepreneurs who are doing well all over without support from the government. So, I disagree with Mr. President on this particular comment. Nigerian youths are hardworking; we have the best brains in the entertainment industry, sport, medical, to mention but few, and I think they deserve an apology.”
